Dave Bickerton: Rishton, Lancashire, United Kingdom; I'm a birder living in the small Lancashire town of Rishton between Blackburn and Accrington and regularly cover sites all across the north of England whenever the opportunity arises. I've been birding since 1974, my formative years being spent on the nature reserves at Ainsdale and at Marshside on the Lancashire coast. Birding gave me the opportunity to travel and that's something I really enjoy. I've travelled widely in the British Isles and know several areas and their avifauna very well. I've been to various destinations in Western Europe, mainly fitting in birding on family holidays, as well as Japan, Gambia, Morocco, Peru, Canada and the USA.
